Gamay

£0.00

Loosely translated, the label - produced by a local artist - means Gamay "without fuss". The estate Domaine de la Garreliere, was bought by Pierre Plouzeau in 1983. He now runs it with his son François. Near the village of Richeliu, in the Loire Valley, it was in fact once owned by the Duc de Richeliu.

The French would call this a "gouleyant" wine, meaning gluggable/smashable!! Full of wild berry fruit, plums and cherries, this easy drinking light - though full of flavour - red can be drunk slightly chilled or chilled. A fresh and lively Gamay, a great edition to a picnic basket at any time of the year!

In our first year of selling this wine at Pomona, I took it off the shelves in October thinking people wouldn't want to drink it during the Winter months. However, due to continued requests, had to re-stock it. It carried on selling just as well throughout the Winter months.
